Non fried Doughnuts

Well they are not as good as the fried ones and once done they look more like soft biscuits rather then doughnuts ,but they are good & also they are fun to do with your kids :)

I bought a measuring jug that has measures for flour sugar ect in CUPS it's really good cause u wont need a scale every time :)

You will need :
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Caster Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Whole Milk
50 grams Melted butter
2 cups Plain Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
Some Icing sugar
100's & 1000's
and Food Coloring

Method:

In a bowl break the egg, add the caster sugar, add the vanilla extract and the melted butter. Whisk all the ingredients you have int the bowl, until every thing is combined together.

Add the milk and baking powder to the mixture and sift the flour too. Now start to mix everything together again with the whisk and then continue with a wooden spoon, Cover it with stretch and seal and put in the fridge for 30 mins.

Preheat oven at 200 Degrees.

Now that the 30 mins passed put some flour on table get the dough from the fridge and work it in some flour, Just open it with your hands don't use a rolling pin & don't make it thin it needs to be thick. Now start cutting the shapes if you don't have a star shape you can use a small glass and an apple corer to do the whole in the middle :).

Cook them for 15 to  20 mins you should get this

Now the fun will start. Put some icing sugar in a small bowl add a little boiling water the some food coloring :)...Mix well.

Dip you shapes in the Colored icing sugar and dip them again in the 100's & 1000's :) and put them to dry and serve :)

I did 3 different colors and this is what i got :)

Well this is the non fat version of these doughnuts/ biscuits but if you want to fry them be my guest. I'm sure they would come much much better but with more calories :)
